Wedding Photography FAQ’s

No question is silly.

How long have you been photographing weddings?

Over 17 years — it's flown by. Hopefully another 20 to come.

Is it a problem if you haven't worked at our venue before?

Not at all — I love photographing new venues, and I'll always visit beforehand (or early on the morning of, if it's a long way off). Every photographer has a first time somewhere, and it's genuinely exciting to be given that opportunity. It also means your photos end up feeling a little more unique to you.

Are you happy to travel?

Absolutely — I photograph a lot of weddings around Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, but I'd love to travel for yours too, wherever that may be. If your venue is over two hours away, a small fee covers a night's hotel stay. For anywhere requiring flights, just get in touch and I'll put together a tailored quote.

Why have a pre wedding session?

It's optional, but most couples find it makes wedding-day photos feel more natural — since we've already spent time together, there's less awkwardness in front of the camera. It's also a nice trial run to sense-check how we work together before the big day.

What is a Second Photographer?

Useful if you've got a big guest list, want both partners' prep covered separately, or just want more candid shots throughout the day — moments I might miss while focused on formals or your couple portraits.

Are you Insured?

Yes — fully insured, so nothing to worry about there.

How many photographs will we receive?

Full-day galleries typically have between 450–600 images, sometimes more.

Are you LGBTQ+ Friendly?

Absolutely — love is love.

Do you photograph group shots?

I do. We'll put together a list beforehand of the groups that matter most to you — I'd suggest keeping it to 5–8, since larger lists can eat into time you'd rather spend with your guests. Having one or two family members on hand to help gather people for each shot speeds things up no end.

Can you edit out things like wrinkles?
Totally normal question, and nothing to feel awkward about. I'm not one for making people look overly airbrushed, but I'm happy to soften anything you're not keen on if you'd like.

Will we receive any black and white photographs?

Yes — your gallery will include a mix of both. I edit each image individually to whatever brings out its best, and some genuinely come alive in black and white.

When will we receive our photographs?

Full galleries take around 6–8 weeks. You'll get a handful of sneak peeks within the first week after your wedding.

Will our photographs be copyrighted?

Yes, though you'll receive a license to print and share them freely with family and friends.

Do we get to meet you before our Wedding day?

Yes, and I'd always recommend it — whether that's a cuppa together or as part of an engagement shoot. You won't be strangers on the day.

Do you have any supplier recommendations?

Plenty — let me know what you're looking for and I'll point you toward people I'd genuinely recommend.

How does your booking process work?

Get in touch through the website and I'll send over a booking form and contract. A £350 reservation fee secures your date, with the remaining balance due one month before the wedding. Payment can be made online by all major credit cards.
